Course information
Cognitive Functional Therapy (CFT), developed by Peter O’Sullivan and his international team, is currently one of the most discussed modern approaches in the management of chronic lowback pain. Especially following the publication of the highly influential RESTORE Trial (2023), CFT has gained significant international attention.
This course is designed for physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals, who want to deepen their understanding of the multidimensional nature of back pain and further develop their clinical reasoning and person centred care skills.

The hybrid course structure combines flexible onlinelearning with intensive practical interaction during the live in-person workshopdays.
Leading the in-person days is Evoolve Certified CFT Trainer Gurpreet Singh from the UK.
Gurpreet is a musculoskeletal physiotherapy educator and clinician, with a special interest in improving the management of people with persistent musculoskeletal pain disorders. He is passionate about helping clinicians develop person-centred communication skills and patient focusedresources.
Important information
· The hybrid course content is identical to Tier1 – KNOWLEDGE | Online with additional interactive activities related to the online patient cases led by Evoolve Certified CFT Trainer Gurpreet Signh
· Registrants will be sent an enrolment email from Evoolve Pain Care Academy 2 weeks prior (18. September 2026) to the first in-person day (03.October 2026).
· It is essential that registrants complete the online ‘day 1’ content prior to attending first in-person day (03. October 2026). Ensure you have sufficient time to watch 5 hours of video content. The online ‘day 1’ content is assumed knowledge for the remainder of the course.

Places are limited, and due to the high international interest in CFT education, the course is expected to fill quickly. Early registration is strongly recommended.

CFT training was challenging at times and intuitive at others. Prior to training, I felt that the toolbox we have to manage people with complex spinal pain works for some, but often only helps manage part of their puzzle. It's easy in a clinical setting to say someone has yellow flags contributing to their ongoing pain and hope it doesn’t impact the treatment plan, but it very much does. I used to feel uncomfortable delving into this, let alone attempting to weave it into my treatment plans.CFT training provided me with the knowledge and the tools to expand my skills and clinical reasoning. My communication skills improved, I learned symptom modification techniques, I can better help patients make sense of their pain and develop more targeted patient-specific exercise programs for all musculoskeletal presentations. I would highly recommend CFT training for any clinician who works in this field.
